The Book Suction Machine is designed specifically with the treatment of bound materials in mind.  A wedge-shaped suction platen is secured onto an adjustable plenum base, allowing it to be positioned into any sized book for suction-based conservation treatments.  No unbinding of the book is required.  

The wedge platen comes in two sizes.  Small is 12 x 8 inches (30 x 20 cm), and Large is 18 x 14 inches (46 x 36 cm).  The adjustable plenum base is compatible with either size.  Wedge Platens are available separately. 

Each platen comes with disposable twill screening attached to the surface, a piece of vinyl diaphragm used for masking, 10 feet (3 meters) of intake hose and an adapter to connect to the desired vacuum source. State what vacuum source is being used in the notes to ensure the correct adapter is included with the device.  Standard vacuum sources are considered to be the  or the .  Vacuum sources are sold separately.  Non-standard vacuum sources may require an additional charge for an adapter.
