For suction treatments under stretcher bars, this design evolved from a great idea originated by Robert Proctor. Constructed of of solvent-resistant stainless steel with an aluminum perforated surface. The edge of the suction device is 3/16 inch (.4 cm) thick, making it easy to manipulate under fragile paper documents or underneath the stretcher bars of a painting.
Each device has a threaded attachment on the back for mounting to a standard camera tripod, allowing it to be positioned and locked into place for in-situ treatments.
Each suction device includes disposable twill screening attached to the surface, a piece of vinyl diaphragm used for masking, and an adapter to connect to the desired vacuum source. State what vacuum source is being used in the notes to ensure the correct adapter is included with the device. Standard vacuum sources are considered to be the , or the MSC Vacuum Control Console. Vacuum sources are sold separately. Non-standard vacuum sources may require an additional charge for an adapter.
